This article may be a bit too cut and dry on the subject of wrongful submission. I believe it is beyond our personal strength to “stop doing that and start doing this.” One’s submission to that which is ungodly is a sinful heart issue and like all sin needs the Holy Spirit’s conviction and cleansing. Often painful, but always rewarding.

Good article and yes, we are losing our ability to relationally communicate face-to-face with others and with God. While technology allows us to reach more people in more places, it also allows us to hide our sin. As Christians, we can’t conceal who we are from God. His Facebook page lists every one of us, warts and all, and yet, He will never leave us or forsake us (or block us.)

Well written and insightful. God’s word is the only thing I know that truly endures.
That is where I must go every day because my faith and patience are constantly being worn down by the forces of this world.

Thanks Gabe for this post on your blog. It is a blessing and privelege to raise my boys, but also a challenge. I worry about making mistakes, but my overriding prayer is that they will want to be just like Jesus…so to the extent they want to be like their old man — I must resemble Jesus, by the Spirit’s enabling, in my thoughts, words and deeds.

Great thoughts, Gabe! I think I will share with Cameron your view point as the father of a girl. Also just good for him to think about as he relates to everyone not just girls. As for our two girls, any boy that comes to our door will see dad and two brothers sitting on the porch cleaning their guns!!!!
